ANNOUNCEMENTS All Saints Anglican Church September 11, 2022 

Sept 15, Thursday, mid-week Eucharist 10 a.m.

Sept 18, Sunday, 9:30 a.m. Family Eucharist with zoom. Parish Council meets at 11:15 a.m.

Sept. 22, Thursday, mid-week Eucharist 10 a.m.

Sept 24, Saturday, Prayer Workshop, 10 a.m. to 12 noon (see below)

Sept 25, 9:30 a.m., Sunday Family Eucharist, with zoom

Sept. 29, 10:00 a.mThursday, mid-week Eucharist

Oct. 2, Truth and Reconciliation Sunday. We will be remembering the wrongs of colonialization and harms done to Indigenous peoples and our commitment to reconciliation. Please wear your ORANGE shirt. If you do not have one they are now on sale in some of the local stores.  We will be planning special hymns, and have other activities appropriate to the occasion.  More updates to follow as planning proceeds.

Oct. 6, Thursday, mid-week Eucharist, 10:00 am

Oct. 9, Sunday Thanksgiving/Harvest and Blessing of Pets, 9:30 am.We welcome donations of autumnal foliage and flowers to decorate the church for Harvest.  Please tell Polly if you can bring something.  We will do the arrangements on Saturday morning Oct. 8th, after 10:00 am.   We will include the Blessing of Pets in the Thanksgiving Sunday Service.  Please bring in photos of your pets, both those who are with us in our homes and those who have passed on during the last 2 years. We will make a display for a blessing.

Oct. 15, Diocesan Mission and Ministry Conference, 2022 (see below)

PRAYER WORKSHOP, Sept. 24thThis workshop is for Everyone involved in the Prayer Ministry:  Healing Prayer, Prayers of the People, and Prayer Chain. Those who are already in these prayer ministries can be renewed as well as share with others. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE COME.  Those who are interested can discover resources, requirements, and general guidelines. Paul Bowie will lead this 2-hour workshop. 

BIBLE STUDYThe Fall Bible Study will focus on the parables of Jesus. The core book will be "Short Stories by Jesus" by Amy-Jill Levine. The Study will run from Oct. 5th to Nov. 23rd, 7-8:30 pm. (We will use ZOOM, so no one has to drive after dark).  Polly will order the books as a bulk order, the cost seems to be about $21.00 plus tax.  Please tell Polly if you would like a copy.

All Saints Community Giving Basket, for this September/Thanksgiving, we will be collecting non- perishable foods for the Mission Community Services Food Centre.A suggestion list of items most needed will be posted soon. 

Saints Alive Newsletter. Submission will be accepted until September 25th for our Saints Alive Newsletter.  Please note that with the guidance of Parish Council I will not be publishing the newsletter in September. Once we get in the swing of things this fall I will send out the Newsletter early October. Meanwhile please read the weekly announcements to keep up to date. ACW Calendars.  We have now received the details to order the 2023 Church calendar.  The theme for this coming year is Peaks & Valleys.  As has been the custom in previous years, it includes a range of photos of our beloved churches from across our country.  The funds raised will assist the ACW to continue with their Outreach Programs.To order your calendars please contact Colleen Keil (604-826-8812) or Judy Beale (604-287-0224)  BEFORE September 30th so we can order your calendars.As in previous years Judy Beale has offered to distribute calendars to those who will be ordering.

Diocesan Mission and Ministry Conference 2022

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11

The Conference will take place October 15, 2022, at St. Dunstan's Aldergrove.  Registration is required, registration deadline is October 3rd.  We gather at 9:30am, start at 10:00 am, concluding at 4:00pm

We invite you to participate in a nurturing day with collaborative innovations professor Dr. Amy Zidulka from Royal Roads University. She will invite us into exercises to refresh, empower and creatively engage in our calls to ministry.  During the day we will use skills Dr. Zidulka introduces to imagine what we (as individuals and parishes) might do in the areas of Housing and Homelessness, Climate Justice and Spiritual Development.    see poster on Narthex
